Joseph Mikuszewski, Criminal Defense Attorney
BACKGROUND
Joseph Mikuszewski is a dedicated criminal defense attorney with extensive courtroom experience in Florida’s criminal courts. His legal career began even before law school, when he worked as a criminal defense paralegal in Brevard County. In that role, he drafted and researched dispositive motions and assisted attorneys in preparing for trial, depositions, and other key proceedings—experience that gave him an early foundation in defense strategy and trial preparation.
After earning his law degree, Joseph served for four years as an Assistant State Attorney in Orange County, where he prosecuted a wide range of cases, from misdemeanors to complex felonies, including homicides. He spent much of his time focusing on traffic homicides and violent crimes, frequently litigating extensive and legally complex motion hearings and presenting cases before juries.
Now, as a criminal defense attorney, Joseph leverages his dual perspective as both a former prosecutor and a defense advocate to provide clients with strategic, informed, and effective representation. His deep understanding of how the State builds its cases allows him to identify weaknesses and fight tirelessly to protect the rights of the accused.
