Kaleah Schilling, Criminal Defense Attorney
BACKGROUND
Kaleah Schilling grew up in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. She attended advanced studies programs throughout her junior and high school careers, graduating within the top ten percent of her high school class.
She went on to earn a full scholarship to the University of Florida. It was here she worked for a small criminal defense firm, where she was first acquainted with advocating for the rights of the accused. After graduating from The University of Florida with a B.S in Advertising, she attended Syracuse University College of Law. Her major studies included counterterrorism law, national security law, and computer crimes. At Syracuse University, she represented criminal clients in New York courts for simple misdemeanor and traffic offenses. Kaleah also became a member of her local fire department and served her community for 4 years as an interior firefighter.
In her professional career, she has maintained a passion for public service. She started her career at the Public Defender’s Office in Polk County, Florida. Here, she handled thousands of criminal cases. Those cases ranged in severity from simple misdemeanors to violent felony offenses. She has tried over 30 jury trials, and litigated hundreds of motions. Locally, she has zealously advocated for the rights of her clients for over 6 years.
