BACKGROUND

Evan Pfeifer is a relentless criminal defense attorney who was born and raised in the NW Suburbs of Chicago. Evan’s dedicated and fearless advocacy on behalf of clients is evident in every case he handles. Evan approaches each matter with the mindset of standing in his client’s shoes, drawing on his own experiences to guide his advocacy and ensure every client receives the relentless advocacy they deserve.

Evan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, graduating magna cum laude. He then concurrently pursued a Juris Doctorate and a Master of Science in Forensic Science at Syracuse University, earning cum laude honors for his Juris Doctorate.

In law school at Syracuse University College of Law, Evan was a Dean’s Scholar and a member of the Travis H.D. Lewin Advocacy Honor Society’s Moot Court and Mock Trial competition teams, Syracuse Law Review, Syracuse Public Interest Network (SPIN), Phi Alpha Delta, Forensic Science Honor Society, and Criminal Law Society. Evan also served as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic (CDC).

As a student attorney, Evan represented low-income clients in Syracuse City Court on misdemeanor and violation charges. His commitment to justice shone through his 671 pro bono hours, ranking third in his graduating class.

Evan’s Relentless approach continued in clerkships at the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of New York and the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. There, he helped secure a not guilty verdict in a federal trial and the dismissal of a murder charge due to prosecutorial misconduct and discovery violations following a successful Motion to Suppress. Evan also served as a law clerk at the Office of the Public Defender for Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit and advocated for clients in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic of Florida Rural Legal Services. While at DJ & JA Cirando, PLLC, he drafted criminal appellate briefs for New York state and federal courts, contributing to several vacated or reduced convictions and sentences.

Most recently, Evan worked at the Nunez Law Firm as well as Roberts, Reynolds, Bedard, & Tuzzio, PLLC, where he provided litigation support each firm’s respective caseload for claims including: personal injury, premises liability, product defects, wrongful death, construction defect, land use and zoning, fire and gas explosion, governmental and municipal liability, dram shop, and general negligence.
