Can I Travel While My Criminal Case is Pending?

Well. It depends, and criminal Defense Attorney Luz Root explains all the details.

The most important thing to know is how you were released. Was it a bond, was it a pre-trial release, was it pre-trial release with bond.

Most likely if you are released with a bond, especially if it is a misdemeanor, you don’t have any restrictions on traveling, however, always make sure to confirm with your attorney.

If you are released on a pre-trial release or a pre-trial release with bond, you are not allowed to leave the state and sometimes even the county without getting court’s approval. Your attorney can file a motion for you and petition the court to allow you to travel whether for work purposes or if you had a vacation planned out for a while.

If you or  a loved one need a criminal defense attorney, don’t hesitate to call Smith & Eulo. We are available 24/7 and offer payment plans.
